Frequently asked questions

Can I have several personal keys at once? Yes, with no practical limit — one per integration is the recommended practice (section 13).

What happens if I change roles after creating a personal key? Nothing automatic: the key keeps your old role’s permissions (section 2). Revoke it and create a new one if you want it to reflect your current role.

Can I recover a key I lost without having copied it? No. It’s shown once (section 4). Revoke it and create a new one.

Does a company key identify who made each call? Not at the authentication level: every call with that key authenticates as the same tenant service account. The “Created by” column only records who generated it, not who uses it afterward.

Can I use an API key so my agent can talk to customers over WhatsApp or Telegram? No — that’s a different mechanism. An API key authenticates calls to the REST API (section 10); an employee’s WhatsApp/Telegram access to the Platform’s chat is linked through a different route, with two-factor verification (Manual 51 · Channel-linked access).

Can I widen a key’s narrowing after creating it (check an area I left unchecked)? No. The narrowing, like the rest of the key’s permissions, is sealed the moment it’s created (section 7). Revoke it and create a new one with the areas you need.
