**Requirements:** none — Shopify's Dev Dashboard is free, self-service sign-up.

1. Go to Shopify's **Dev Dashboard** (`dev.shopify.com/dashboard`) and log in.
2. In the side menu, choose **Stores**.
3. Click **Create store**.
4. Choose the **Dev** type ("development store") and give it a name that identifies it in your panel — never your real business name if it's only for testing.
5. Choose a plan (Basic/Grow/Advanced/Plus, it doesn't matter for testing) and click **Create store**.

1. Go into the newly created store and locate its full domain, with the `mitienda.myshopify.com` format (visible in the store admin panel's own URL, or under **Settings → Domains**).

> **Warning — Verified against the official documentation — "Dev Dashboard" terminology**
>
> When reviewing Shopify's official documentation for this manual (`shopify.dev/docs/apps/tools/development-stores`, checked on September 5, 2026), development stores are created today from the **Dev Dashboard** (`dev.shopify.com/dashboard`). Older documentation may refer to the same mechanism as "Partners Dashboard" (`partners.shopify.com`) — if your account still shows it under that name, the step is the same.
